Cuddle Me

2020

Video Projection

11 minutes, on seamless loop

A wave splashes against a rock, flows over and pulls back again. A mirror of intimacy in nature.

My long contemplations on the intimacy brought me here, as I often find clarity by water. Now, I observe a spontaneous repetition of intimacy. I recognize this caress, the action and impact.

The waves reach the shore time after time, softly or crashing at times, over flowing. The water molds the rock with each touch, first on its surface, the seeping in over time. The rock changes, shines, breaks and dissolves its minerals in the body of water. An impact both immediate and spread over a lifetime.
